Viber, the famous messaging service, officially announced the release of Viber Out, a service that allows Viber users call any landline or mobile phone in the world.
Viber Out has been launched last month, during the Typhoon Haiyan, to help survivors of the tragedy to communicate with their families. Viber is now enjoying its third anniversary for the worldwide launch.
The service allows Viber users to call a phone number including landlines and mobiles at competitive rates. Enough to seriously compete Skype. For the occasion, Viber even published a table where you can compare the prices of calls between the two services.
In addition to the lowest rates, Viber Out also aims to be more user friendly, as indicated in the press release: "Unlike other services, Viber Out shows your genuine phone number to the receiver so she or he knows who is calling ".
Viber Out is now available for Android, iPhone and desktop (and soon on Windows Phone). You can buy credits via in-app purchases or credit card.
