Hacker Earns 100K $ After Discovering a Bug in Windows 8.1

Windows 8.1 is certainly not out yet, but it is already available for manufacturers, developers and other holders of MSDN or TechNet account. To counter any event, Microsoft announced last June that every flaw highlighted in the OS would bring 100,000 dollars to its discoverer.

And it's done: The first flaw has been found in Windows 8.1 and Microsoft is preparing to pay the amount to Forsha James, who had found a bug in Internet Explorer 11, which is well known in the world of exploits and hacks. The man is a security specialist and works for the company : Context Information Security. Note that one of the engineers of Microsoft, Thomas Garnier, also found at the same time a variant of the bug discovered by James Forsha, but it's this latter that Microsoft has chosen because his demonstration seems to have been more convincing.

Microsoft does not however go into details of the discovered flaw, but encourages everyone to transmit other information relating to the safety of the OS or browser. No doubt Microsoft engineers will have to roll up their sleeves , to deliver a patch on time . In just one week, the public version of Windows 8.1 should indeed be released in stores and on Windows Update.
