Apple's iTunes Radio Pays More Than Pandora

In anticipation of the launch of the streaming service iTunes Radio presented at WWDC, Apple has sent the conditions for integration in iTunes Radio service several independent labels. According to the Wall Street Journal , the terms offered by Apple are very interesting. The California-based company will donate an amount depending on the number of plays, but also broadcast advertising.

According to the document, Apple should pay 0.0013 dollar listen and donate 15% of advertising revenues in the first year. For the second year, the rate increases to 0.0019 per dollar listening and 19% of advertising revenues. In both cases, it's better than Pandora which reverse that by listening to 0.0012 dollar.

Be careful though, Apple has placed some specific clauses in his contract. For example, it is not a question of charge listening to a user who already has the piece in question in his library or on iTunes Match. Selected pieces by Apple as part of a specific promotion are also not charged.

The conditions are quite favorable for labels, we should find a lot of songs on iTunes Radio platform. The service will be released at the same time as iOS 7 in the United States.
