Microsoft Releases Remote Desktop For iOS, Mac & Android

Microsoft this week brought Windows 8.1 along with an interesting tool for those who love the remote access from their smartphones: Microsoft Remote Desktop. With it, users of mobile phones with the Android and iOS operating systems can control the features of Windows from the small screen of their mobile device.

The application will support all computers that have remote access enabled in the Control Panel. Despite the small screen of mobile phones, the interaction with the Windows 8 makes it easy to use from the touchscreen, which ends up being a facility for who choose to remote browsing.

The application, unfortunately, does not automatically recognize the network computers, and must enter the IP of the machine to be accessed. Instead, it facilitates access to some functions of Windows from an on-screen keyboard, with keys like alt, esc, shift, ctrl, and even the "Start" button.

Microsoft Remote Desktop is a free application for users of Android and iOS, and you can find them both in the Google Store as the App Store .
