Soon, Microsoft Glass? According to information from the Wall Street Journal, Microsoft is currently testing prototypes of smart glasses, similar to the famous Google Glass. Microsoft has asked some of its Asian suppliers to produce parts that could compose this device, such as a small camera sensor.
"Microsoft is determined to take the lead in the production to not leave behind the market of gadgets that can be worn", says a source close to the case cited by the Wall Street Journal. The "wearable technology" is still a new area for large companies with new technologies, but promising future. According to an ABI Research study, the annual sales of these gadgets will reach 485 million units by 2018. After experiencing many difficulties in the field of tablets, a growing market, Microsoft's future could therefore go through the connected objects.
Among these futuristic gadgets , there are connected wristbands, that monitor the pulse to measure the sports activities or analyze the quality of sleep. Yet high-tech giants reserve forces for projects even crazier. Google started rolling the ball in 2012 with Google Glass, a project of connected glasses. These are actually a computer attached to a frame. Using a small screen, the user can browse the Internet, follow the directions of his GPS or take pictures with a lens mounted on the camera. Currently in the testing phase, this prototype has apparently given ideas to Microsoft.
