April month is coming to end, it is time for us to offer a compilation of the best Cydia tweaks out during the last 30 days.
One month of April rather rich tweaks quality and not necessarily pay a penny to further customize your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Judge for yourself.
WeatherIcon
WeatherIcon is one of those tweaks that is just perfect. It adds the real-time temperature right to the icon, and changes according to the actual weather! Currently, it is night time, cloudy, 38°, and I know this because of WeatherIcon. My weather icon is a dark indigo to portray the night, with a cloud and beneath reads the temperature. This is probably one of the greatest tweaks in Cydia. To add to it’s awesomeness, you can even have the temperature and weather icon displayed in the status bar. What’s even better is that this tweak is completely free! What else could be better? Tweaks like this is the exact reason why I jailbroke my iPhone.
Beacon
Beacon is a new jailbreak tweak that forces the animated Apple logo to appear each time your respring or reboot your device. That animation is accompanied by a transition animation when switching to your Lock screen. With all of this said, you’d have to really, and I mean really, love that animation in order to be willing to cough up $0.99 for the privilege.
MusicWidget
One of the wonderful things about the Dashboard X widget interface is its out of the box compatibility with Notification Center add-ons. Cjori — the developer of the popular widget interface — could have easily used that as an excuse to not design widgets exclusively made with Dashboard X in mind, but as a benefit to us, he and others have decided not to do so.As a result, they have exclusively designed items like Dashtweet, Clock Widget, and now Music Widget witch allows you to view your “now playing” album art, along with placing play/pause, skip, and previous buttons conveniently near the bottom of the interface.
BatteryDoctorPro
For those who aren’t familiar with it, BatteryDoctorPro is a jailbreak app that monitors your iPhone or iPod touch usage to essentially lengthen your battery life. But it also has Notification Center settings toggles, a multitasking bar and several other handy features…Installing the app adds an icon to your Home screen, which is where you can customize your settings and view your usage stats. You’ll be impressed by the amount of settings it allows you to tweak, and how much data it offers about your device and its power needs.
Grabby
Based on a concept by UI designer Sentry, Grabby is a customizable camera grabber tweak, and it allows you to slide the Lock screen’s camera grabber to launch more apps. Take a look inside for a further description and screenshots…
Live Battery Indicator
Live Battery Indicator is a new tweak available in Cydia that will change the traditional view of the battery on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Instead of having the battery icon and the percentage listed next,they're all together now. In addition to changing appearance, you gain a little space in your status bar.
Abstergo
Hundreds of new tweaks show up every month but it’s not always that you get to see a tweak like Abstergo. It’s one heck of a tweak that is aimed to make managing notifications better. It adds power to notifications so that these are not just information pieces you either click or clear.
Abstergo is basically aimed at:
- Helping you clear your notifications at one go
- Create reminders/alerts for the notifications so you don’t forget them
- Manage notifications from anywhere: lockscreen, NC, badgets, alerts

When you think about it, the Lock Screen is the first thing you see when you turn your iPhone/iPod touch on, yet what you do in the Lock Screen is very limited.
