At a time when the world is going crazy over the selfie phenomena, Samsung is rumoured to have developed its first selfie-centric smartphone. The Galaxy Grand Prime reportedly has a 5MP front-facing camera fit for clicking a great self-portrait.
The Galaxy Grand Prime will supposedly sport a 5 inch 540*960 display, 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 backed by 1 GB RAM, 8 MP rear camera and 5 MP front selfie-camera. Android 4.4 KitKat will supposedly run the Galaxy Grand Prime, but we don’t know whether TouchWiz will be included in the package. 8 GB storage expandable by a microSD card will also be available and a 2600 mAH battery will provide the juice for the Galaxy Grand Prime.
Like other Grands, the Galaxy Grand Prime will be a dual-SIM device with 3G connectivity (HSPA going up to 42Mbps down, 5.76Mbps up). Other connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0.
Supposedly, the Galaxy Grand Prime will be launched in Vietnam next month for aroun $230, but no word on whether it will be released in the U.S. or what price it will have if so. If it does reach U.S. markets, it will face that harsh competition and it won’t fare as well as others, since the 5 MP shooter is easily overcome by many of the phones.
