The research experts at Netmarketshare published a report devoted to the market of browsers and desktop operating systems. Following the November results, Windows 8.1 became the fifth popular OS for computers. The new desktop platform from Microsoft gained 2.64%, bypassing the new operating system of Apple, OS X 10.9 Mavericks with a share of 2.42% of the market.
By the end of last month, the first place belongs to Windows 7 (46.64%). Windows XP continues to be the second most popular OS with 32.22% share. This month it decreased by only 0.02%, and 0.19% per two months. At this pace, for the remaining four months it may not fall below 30%.
Meanwhile, we find growing share of Internet Explorer 11, which first debuted in Windows 8.1, and in November, became available on Windows 7. Now its share is 3.27% (+1.78%). Leading version IE8 with 21.74% (-0.02%), followed by IE 10 with a value of 17.5% (-1.44%), Firefox 25 closes the top three with a value of 10.43%, followed by IE9 with 9.25% and Chrome 31 with 6.77%.
