Evleaks published a picture of a controller designed by Logitech for iPhone. This type of product should seriously begin to arrive over the next few weeks. Indeed, iOS 7 includes API dedicated to developers to take advantage of this type of device to connect it to an iPhone. The controller has directional cross on the left, four buttons on the right and two triggers on the upper edge. At the rear, there is a hole to allow the iPhone to take pictures (or videos) if necessary.
Apple offers two types of configurations for the partners. The first connects via Lightning port of th device while the second connects via Bluetooth. In the case of Logitech and this controller in particular, it seems that the first option was chosen. Apple requires also to make the controller optional so that a game can be played without it. Apple prefers to anticipate and has good reason to take precautions.
Obviously, the controllers can be a significant factor in the development of games. Developers will consider reviewing some of their creations to fit. Some have already begun actually. The iPhone and iPod touch have been able to collect a significant part of revenues of video games on mobile . This accessory will only increase these revenues. Note that other manufacturers should do the same very soon.
