Google Reader is Closed But A Clone is Already Available

As expected, Google has deactivated the plug of its Reader service. But do not panic: a developer has just  launched an open-source clone!

The developer Matt Jibson is one who has managed to encode only a carbon copy of the now defunct RSS feed aggregator of Google Reader. Active member of the GitHub community , Jibson has finally launched its project Go Read a few days ago , after nights spent coding, to seek ways to mimic Reader.

Go Read, announced on Hacker News and deposited on GitHub (its code is available for everyone), wants to be as simple as Google Reader: you import your favorite RSS feeds, you get a records management, and you start use the service.

For now, Go Read does not yet offer all the features of Google Reader, the search is for example conspicuously absent. But ,Jibson is confident, and provide it new functions on the fly, as soon as he has time. It evokes against the ability for users to benefit from advertising flanked version or a version being stripped, and in order to cover the costs of the users multiplication of Go Read. Although he admits that he does not seek to create any profit by its creation.

If you want to test Go Read, it's here.
