Chinese Woman Dies After An iPhone Call, Apple Assures Full Cooperation

As she took a call on her iPhone, suffered a 23-year-old Chinese from a fatal electric shock. Apple has already promised full cooperation in the investigation of the incident. The exact cause of the accident is still unclear.

As Chinese media reports : Ma Ailun , a flight attendant for China Southern Airlines, had her iPhone connected to the charger, as she took a call. Coroner stated that wounds on her neck were clearly attributable to a strong electric shock.

Therefore, there is speculation now, possibly if the cable or the power supply may have been faulty. The iPhone itself is also not beyond doubt. Which model it was, is not yet clear. The sister of the victim was not sure if it was an iPhone 5 or the previous model.

What part of this chain was now responsible for the fatal shock exactly, Apple also wants to find itself. In a statement, a spokeswoman said:"We will launch an investigation and assure you of our full cooperation with the authorities."

Even though, the smartphone itself wasn't enough to suffer a fatal electric shock, a bad power supply or cables in connection with defective fuses could well be responsible for the incident. So , Ma Ailun would have been delivered the full 220 volts from the wall outlet.

Especially in China, the number of "unofficial replicas" for power supply units is very high. The copies are hard to distinguish even for experienced eyes of the originals, but have a significantly lower quality of workmanship on the inside.
