AirGo , The Future Of Airline Seat?

An economy-class airline seat that would allow to sleep, eat or play at any time and without disturbing your neighbor seat? This is the challenge that holds Alireza Yaghoubi, a Malaysian engineering student who has submitted a proposal to this effect to the James Dyson Award, an international design competition organized by the famous manufacturer of vacuum cleaners.

Called AirGo (as in "ergonomics"), this seat will have its own luggage compartment and a single screen, both located above the passenger's head, and it would be designed so that the person in front would not occupy "a third of the space for which we pay today," says the designer.

The seat would have a wheelbase of 41 inches and occupy 16% more space than the average economy class seats, and it would be covered with a kind of nylon net, replacing the current bulky and thick seat cushions . "Although thinner, it is inexpensive, durable, recyclable and more comfortable," says the inventor.

To finance the investment that would represent the redevelopment of a plane with AirGo, Yaghoubi suggest to take advantage of the single screen, which is as large as those of the current business classes, to sell videos to watch, games or books to read in flight ... or include more advertising. Stay tuned ...
