Apparently, there are many ways to protect your data on a smartphone. If some use a lock code or an integrated fingerprint reader, SALT is defined as an innovative alternative. Indeed, the accessory operates as a virtual key for your smartphone.
According to the developers, users spend up to 52 hours per year typing their pin in to their phone (not so sure about this to be honest) and as such claim they can save you these hours while offering security and convenience. The card itself is similar in all respects to a credit card and designed to be carried in your wallet or purse. The card runs on Bluetooth 4.0, works with Android 4.4 (KitKat) via a SALT app and according to the developers has been designed with a one-year battery contained within. So there is no need to charge the card although presumably after one year you will have to buy another one.
